Commercial Water Removal for Cocoa Beach Eateries

7/25/2022 (Permalink)

Air movers and dehumidifiers like these can help remove water from your business.

How SERVPRO can help you remove water from your business

Like many other cities and towns in Florida, Cocoa Beach relies on local and tourist patronage. Keeping the doors open for every viable hour is essential to pay the business' power bill, provide employees' paychecks, and keep the local economy moving.

This is impossible when water is in a Cocoa Beach restaurant's foyer, dining area, bathrooms, or kitchen. Commercial water removal must be done immediately to serve customers and prevent secondary damage. SERVPRO keeps a trained restoration team on-call to meet every need.

If our team receives pictures and video of the flooding, they can bring in the right equipment to get started minutes after arriving on site. The first task is to remove any standing water. As one of our inspectors looks for the water source and turns it off, others set up a commercial grade pump and begin the removal process. Technicians direct the water into the nearest sewer drain.

After removing the bulk of the water, team members utilize extraction wands. These smaller devices draw water off wood and concrete floors and pull it out of carpets. The wands have a built-in heating element, so SERVPRO technicians can carefully begin drying carpets and wood floors simultaneously.

Depending on the size of the restaurant, our team has two options. Members can use portable wands with a battery pack or plug into the wall for smaller cafes or, for large, buffet-style restaurants, utilize wands that pump the water directly to a holding tank mounted on a truck outside the structure.

Once they finish with the wands, technicians install fans and air movers to draw out the damp air inside and replace it with warm air to speed up the drying process. As the fans and air movers work, team members use long-handled squeegees to push any remaining spots or pools of water out of corners and out from under appliances and furniture.

Our goal at SERVPRO of Central Brevard is to support our fellow business owners and help them reopen to customers as soon as we can safely do so. If you need our services, call us today at (321) 638-4947 to schedule a visit.

How to Handle Commercial Water Removal From Merritt Island Properties

2/4/2022 (Permalink)

No job is too big or small for SERVPRO of Central Brevard.

SERVPRO’S Broad Approach Manages Water Damages and Expectations at Your Merritt Island Property

Water intrusion in any property is inconvenient. However, various factors combine to worsen the outcome in a commercial facility. For example, suppose you have many staff members or customers within the facility during the water spill. In that case, their movements spread moisture and soils over vast areas, thus increasing the cleaning or repair challenge.

Handling water removal in Merritt Island business facilities is also unique from a management perspective since you have to address and satisfy the interests of different interest groups. Clients and staff expect you to fulfill their comfort needs, while local authorities might require conformance with a strict set of standards for sanitary reasons. Even with all these requirements, you have little to worry about when involving professionals like SERVPRO to handle the restoration.

The Main Advantages of Professional Water Removal Include:

  • Managing expectations
  • Availing sufficient restoration resources
  • Providing alternative utilities

Most of the people affected by the water intrusion at your facility are not well informed about the intrigues of restoring such damage. However, if you provide sufficient information, you can manage their expectations. One of the ways SERVPRO helps is by giving a lot of information, especially regarding timelines. Once our technicians evaluate the damage, we can tell what restoration procedures are necessary and the time to complete them.

Water Restoration Takes Many Procedures Apart From Extraction, Including:

  • Demolition to remove unsalvageable materials
  • Cleaning and decontamination
  • Deodorization

Information like your expected timelines to complete tasks such as extraction or drying may be taken more seriously when there is sufficient equipment at the facility. Our SERVPRO teams are well equipped when going out to handle any incident. We bring several units of restoration equipment like water extractors, air movers, and dehumidifiers. We also have other support utilities such as large trash cans to collect waste and plastic sheets to create containment where necessary.

SERVPRO of Central Brevard is prepared to handle people’s expectations and any water removal challenge allowing you to resume your operations. Call us at (321) 638-4947. We’re Faster To Any Size Disaster.

Mitigation vs. Restoration in Your Merritt Island Hotel

1/13/2022 (Permalink)

Our fire damage technicians have the equipment and experience to restore your hotel to pre-damage condition.

SERVPRO Technicians are Standing by Ready to Respond to Your Commercial Damage Call

Perhaps one of the leading causes of irreparable damages to Merritt Island businesses after a fire is the failure to contact a restoration company quickly enough. As is the case with all kinds of disasters, a faster response can ensure that professionals are actively mitigating the situation rather than reacting to damage that has already occurred.

While admittedly, the commercial fire damages that a Merritt Island hotel experienced during a fire are going to significantly slow once extinguishment occurs, it does not entirely stop, either. Even firefighting efforts intended to put out the flames inside of the building can leave damages of their own, and to prevent these situations from continually worsening, you need to act quickly.

You might not get surprised to learn that our SERVPRO offices receive calls regularly asking for quotes over the phone or just after an emergency or disaster has occurred. Many business owners become so determined to find the lowest quote or estimate that they fail to see the damages they allow by waiting for the information they want to hear.

Fire damages are no different in their ability to continually worsen, making even smaller-scale fires unmanageable for those renting a room at your facility. That is where mitigation comes in. Our SERVPRO team provides this service by showing up quickly and working to prevent the situation from getting any worse.

On the other hand, restoration is a service that we provide that takes the damaged areas of your business and brings them back to preloss conditions through reconstruction, cleaning, and other practices. While any commercial or residential property ultimately requires both to some degree, the faster you can choose the right restoration team for your disaster, the less time and money have to go into both sides of this process.

Sometimes, choosing the right restoration company to help you amid a crisis can be an impossible task. The best course of action is to plan ahead when possible. You can always rely on our SERVPRO of Central Brevard fire restoration specialists to be standing by and ready to help mitigate the damage and restore the effects. Give us a call 24/7 at (321) 638-4947.

Fire Damage Restoration in Cocoa Is Easier With Effective Wall and Ceiling Cleaning Methods

12/27/2021 (Permalink)

Call SERVPRO after you experience a fire incident, we have training in fire & smoke restoration, odor control, upholstery & fabric cleaning.

SERVPRO Combines Dry, Wet, and Specialized Cleaning Techniques to Remove Soiling from Fire Damage

When restoring a Cocoa facility after fire damage, you must dedicate significant effort to cleaning to remove smoke, moisture, and even firefighting chemical residues. Vast flat surfaces such as walls and ceilings collect most soils, so a significant portion of the cleaning effort is focused here.

Cleaning walls and ceilings as part of fire damage restoration in Cocoa premises might seem easy, yet in practice, it is not. Wall and ceiling surfaces differ greatly even within the same property, so one restoration approach is not likely to work in all areas. That is why SERVPRO teams are equipped with several cleaning resources.

Surface Variations that Affect Wall and Ceiling Cleaning Include:

  • Finishes like paint, paneling, and spray-on acoustic plaster
  • Materials like stipple, metallic tile, or textured plaster
  • Surface covers such as wallpaper

Even for a skilled restoration team like SERVPRO, it takes some evaluation to determine the best cleaning approach for better outcomes and avoid damaging the soiled material. Our fire restoration technicians test for cleanability, surface, and soil types. The results help determine the cleaning resources and timing, among other things.

Three Approaches are Commonly Used to Remove Fire Residues:

  • Using dry cleaning sponges
  • Wet cleaning
  • Peroxide active cleaning

Using dry cleaning sponges is appropriate when there is minimal to moderate soiling. It is also helpful when the surface materials deteriorate quickly from over-wetting. Attaching the cleaning sponges to extension poles allows our SERVPRO technicians to reach high walls and ceilings, completing the process faster.

Wet cleaning produces faster and superior outcomes for materials like metal and solid wood. However, regular wet cleaning would be counterproductive for porous materials like acoustic tiles, while using cleaning sponges would leave trace residues. Our SERVPRO crews use a specialized procedure such as peroxide active cleaning.

SERVPRO of Central Brevard takes care of all cleaning needs during fire damage restoration. Call us at (321) 638-4947. We're Faster To Any Size Disaster.

Why Try and Tackle Water Damage Remediation Alone for Your Merritt Island Business

12/6/2021 (Permalink)

Water damage can temporarily close your business. SERVPRO is always standing by to remediate the damage.

Covering Commercial Water Damage in Merritt for Small and Large Businesses

Your business is a place for staff and customers to enjoy, which is why an emergency flood situation can hurt both your reputation and your quarterly revenues. Companies in the public service industry are naturally at most risk of a revenue drop following a temporary closure. We offer business owners a solution to leaks, floods, and other water incidents that allows you to get back on track quickly, with a minimum loss of revenue.

Our commercial water damage clients in Merritt include small businesses, as well as state-funded operations like school buildings. SERVPRO has a highly trained workforce that is focused on keeping claims low by restoring rather than replacing where possible. If you suffer a burst pipe, the first thing you can do while awaiting a call-out is to remove any furniture or fittings from the affected area to prevent further damage. Be careful to avoid slippery floors or areas where you may lose your footing- our technicians can handle any items that may be risky to remove yourself.

On arrival, your SERVPRO technician can shut off the source of the water leak before bringing in industrial equipment like truck-mounted extraction units to remove the vast body of water. This process relieves pressure on a structure as well as prevents water logging issues or severe damages to furnishings. While the standing water level is reduced, an experienced crew chief may begin cleaning stains which sometimes respond better to a restoration before the drying process begins.

Odor Issues after Water Damage

An odor issue may become apparent during a water spill. These odors can either be the result of contaminated water supply- like a backed-up sewer- or the loosening of pre-existing odor and soiling in the property. Malodors can become more apparent when the property is wet, so SERVPRO ensures that the property is dry before outlining a deodorizing strategy. Where there is a temporary closure, or the property is otherwise vacated, we can set up and run an Ozone generator to find and eliminate odor particles across a wide surface area creating an indoor environment that is indistinguishable from the preloss condition.

Our team of crew chiefs and technicians are experienced handlers of commercial cleanup operations. Contact SERVPRO of Central Brevard at (321) 638-4947 today.

SERVPRO can Help Save Merritt Island Businesses Time and Money by Offering Reliable Fire Soot Cleanup

Fire soot cleanup of our Merritt Island Commercial space needs to happen fast to prevent long-term damage. Improper soot removal can further the damage already done to your commercial building during a fire incident.

SERVPRO techs use modern technology and scientific approach during fire soot cleanup in Merritt Island homes. Soot from a fire incident consists of tiny microscopic particles that contain a mixture of carbon and other compounds. When these compounds deposit on various surfaces, they can cause permanent damage. SERVPRO techs use different methods to remove soot depending on the type of fire and the surfaces involved.

How do SERVPRO Techs Decide What Cleaning Method to Use during Fire Damage Restoration of Merritt Island Structures?

SERVPRO techs have several cleaning methods at their disposal while cleaning the fire and smoke damage from your Merritt Island establishment. However, it is important to pick the correct techniques for the best results. Among the various factors that SERVPRO IICRC-certified techs use to decide which cleaning method to use, the type of smoke damage is important.

Fast-burning, oxygen-rich fires produce dry soot particles. Although such particles can travel farther away from the source, they are relatively easy to clean. SERVPRO techs use dry cleaning methods to clean the dry smoke residue.

On the other hand, oxygen-starved, slow-burning fires can produce what is known as the wet smoke residue. The particles of wet smoke can easily smear across the surfaces and are generally more difficult to clean than dry smoke particles. SERVPRO techs use various chemical cleaning agents to tackle wet smoke particles.

What do you do for Commercial Water Damage in a Merritt Island Office that Needs Rapid Cleanup?

SERVPRO uses the latest technology and equipment for any size water damage remediation service for your commercial building.

Contact the Experts at SERVPRO, You can Depend on their Experienced Technicians to handle the Catastrophe Properly

There is very little worse than opening the door to your business and finding a wet carpet. After immediately shutting off the water main to the building and contacting a plumber, the next call should be to get restoration services active so the office can reopen as fast as possible.

One of the first actions SERVPRO techs do upon arrival to a business with commercial water damage in Merritt Island is to scope the property. This involves the use of their advanced moisture detection equipment to "see" if the water is present within the subfloor or has wicked into sheetrock behind baseboards. This care in looking over a property allows the techs to determine the actual scale of water damage.

Safety During Water Removal

When the SERVPRO techs work on extracting the standing water, areas where slip and fall accidents from a wet floor are possible get cordoned off and marked with yellow tape. To call attention to anyone in the area to move with care.

Drying Phase of Water Damage Mitigation

SERVPRO techs spend extra time on the water removal as it lessens the overall drying time and assists in helping the office get back to normal sooner. The techs raise furnishings on blocks to dry them in place whenever possible. This step helps limit the disruption to the office that can happen when large amounts of furniture get moved out and moved back in. Raising desks, chairs, and tables on blocks helps to ensure any wood stains do not bleed onto the flooring and water does not affect the legs.

Cleaning and Odor Control After Merritt Island Water Damage

After drying, the techs clean the water damaged areas with professional-grade antimicrobials and other cleaning agents. This phase of the mitigation not only sanitizes but also assists in eliminating odors. If any residual odors remain after cleaning, the techs have equipment that can overtake musty smells and other devices that can remove scents at the molecular level. If the techs determine conditions that may support mold growth, the techs may apply an antimicrobial sealant to discourage spore development before repairs to the plumbing.

SERVPRO of Central Brevard at (321) 638-4947 has the experience and professional equipment to turn around any type of commercial water damage to make the damage, "Like it never even happened."

How Long Is Water Restoration in a Cocoa Business?

3/3/2021 (Permalink)

The SERVPRO Green Fleet is at the ready for water damage cleanup in Cocoa area businesses

Many Businesses Can Reopen Quickly After Water Damage

Timely reopening to customers means bringing in a professional restoration team. At SERVPRO, our teams are ready to provide each business owner a clean, dry facility, safe for customers and employees.

For Cocoa commercial facilities, water damage restoration requires three steps:

  • Remove Standing Water
  • Dispose of Debris
  • Dry Structural Property and Inventory

What Happens When a Team Arrives?

Specialists start removing water with large pumps if there is significant pooling. Once they reduce it to a thin layer, they switch to smaller extractors and use long-handled squeegees to push water outside the facility. As they remove the water, other team members carefully remove debris that cannot be fully restored.

After removal operations, specialists draw out moisture trapped in the structure and inventory items that prevent it from being used in production or sold to customers. They first set up fans to increase air circulation and then establish air movers to force warm air over the damp property, pushing moisture out into the air so the fans direct it out of the facility and also towards the dehumidifiers.

Cocoa is a relatively small city in the Palm Bay area of Brevard County, Florida. The small town saw a rapid expansion to its population and a first taste of the mid-sixties' tourism economy. People converged to the area to witness the launch of spaceships from the nearby Cape Canaveral. Within a century, the population experienced rapid growth rising from 1,800 in the nineteen twenties to 12,244 by the sixties. Today, there are 17,140 permanent residents in the region, with much of the local economy taking advantage of proximity to Palm Bay.

The city gets visitors from cruise passengers throughout the year via the stop-off point of Cape Canaveral. As such, the downtown area is densely populated throughout the year, while several tourist attractions such as the Brevard Museum of History and Natural Science and The Eastern Florida State College Planetarium and Observatory keep visitors busy.

At the heart of Cocoa is its historic village downtown. Annual events like the Brewers Bash, Spring Fine Art & Craft Fair, and the Kennedy Space Center are all attractions that take place within walking distance of the main street. How Do I Get Rid of Mold in My Office Bathrooms?

6/8/2020 (Permalink)

Water leaks can cause mold. Call SERVPRO for fast, effective mold remediation.

For Mold Damage Restoration in the Bathrooms Inside Your Cocoa Office Call SERVPRO

Fungi are microorganisms that digest organic substances from their surroundings to get nutrients instead of animals that eat or plants that make their food. Fungi are multicellular, and once they develop, they release seed-like spores that float around the air and look for a new area to contaminate.

What does mold need to form and grow?

Water leaks that do not get treated right away cause many cases of mold damage in Cocoa. For example, if your toilets or pipes inside your office bathroom develop a slow leak, fungi can grow. A fungus only needs the following three things to form and survive:

  • Food Source: Mold feeds off of any material inside your office that is organic. Wood or paper compose organic materials include your structural components.
  • Temperature: Most of the types of molds commonly found in buildings survive best when the temperature is between 68 and 86 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Moisture: Most fungi need a lot of moisture to survive, but some can survive at humidity levels of 65% and higher. To inhibit mold growth, the relative humidity inside a structure should stay below 60%.

How does mold get worse over time?

The longer mold sits there, the more it can grow and reproduce. Once a fungus forms, it grows structures called hyphae in all directions. These hyphae then release spores into the air for reproduction purposes. The more time mold has to grow, the harder it can be to remove.

How do you remove fungi once it has formed?

Once a fungus has developed, it often needs removing by sanding or soda blasting in a way that prevents its spores from spreading. Before removing mold, we set up a containment chamber with an air scrubber attached to it that creates negative air pressure and traps any particles dislodged by the removal process. Any materials removed then get disposed of in a sealed plastic bag.

For help with keeping mold from spreading to previously unaffected areas of your office in Rockledge or Cape Canaveral, call SERVPRO of Central Brevard at (321) 638-4947.

Is It Smart to Find a Restoration Company that Specializes Only in Fire Recovery?

It can be surprising to business owners confronted with their first fire scenario how many issues present in the chaos that are not strictly related to fire residue cleanup. Although the company you select must have mastery of fire restoration industry best practices, unless you want to line up one contractor after another, the best fit is a full-spectrum disaster recovery firm. SERVPRO invests in a broad array of training and certifications for our managers and technicians through the international restoration standards-setting organization, the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC). This comprehensive training means we can move seamlessly through all the phases of even a complex fire recovery project, able to identify and respond to a wide range of issues that might not immediately seem fire damage-related.

What Are Examples of These “Non-Fire Damage Related” Concerns?

The most apparent co-disaster after a fire is significant water damage. Chemical extinguishers are also used to knock down the flames, but water is the substance most frequently used to control and ultimately eliminate the actual fire. Your commercial building likely is equipped with a heat-activated sprinkler system intended to begin dousing the flames. When the firefighters arrive, they add to that water load, using as much water as necessary to stop further damage to structural components and the contents of your building. This excess water requires the following before fire residue cleaning begins in earnest:

    •    Professional safety assessment for slip, trip, and fall and electrical shock hazard management
    •    Inspection for trapped water in building cavities, including spaces above ceilings
    •    Safe release of trapped water
    •    Removal with pumps and extractors
    •    Thorough structural drying
    •    Continuous inspection for signs of mold damage

Are There Other Hazards Fire Damage Mitigation and Remediation Reveal?

As our crews begin the exacting tasks of removing soot and smoke residues from surfaces inside your commercial building, we also can encounter:

    •    Evidence of uncontained asbestos materials
    •    Deteriorating surfaces with lead-based paint
    •    Pre-existing mold growth

Commercial Fire Damage Restoration In Your Cocoa Dry Cleaner

Call SERVPRO of Central Brevard at (321) 638-4947 to help.

Expertise in Commercial Fire Damage Restoration Helps Cocoa Dry Cleaner Resume Business Fast

A dry cleaning facility in Cocoa caught fire, reducing some highly valued contents, including customers' items to ash. The fire also left many building materials blackened with soot and charring, requiring professional assistance to restore the affected areas so that the dry cleaner could resume operations.

When SERVPRO was informed of the commercial fire damage in the Cocoa dry cleaner, we prepared to help the proprietors salvage whatever was possible, clean up and generally restore the premises to its preloss state. Fires in dry cleaning facilities can be intense because of the abundance of highly combustible materials, including furniture, lint, and garments. The use of petroleum-based solvents only aggravates the situation. Such fires can leave devastating damages.

The incident at the Cocoa dry cleaner was controlled before it could consume the entire structure, thanks to efforts by the fire department. Our SERVPRO technicians could, therefore, use their advanced training to salvage some of the affected items, helping reduce the restoration costs. Among the things, we could readily salvage, were the wooden furniture and structure supports, which were mostly charred or caked in residues. A soda blaster helped us clean all the blackened areas.

The smoke from the fire also affected most of the fabrics within the facility, including garments brought to the facility by customers. Fires produce different types of residues complicating the cleanup process, even for a business that deals in cleaning services. Our SERVPRO technicians are trained to use different cleaning methods, including emulsifying, dissolving, and soils suspension, to get the job done. We also carry out various tests on fabrics to guarantee any cleaning approach used does not set soils or damage the fabrics in other ways. Using this deep wealth of knowledge, we managed to clean up and restore some of the articles left by customers at the dry cleaner.

A fire that ruins customers' valuables can have long-term implications that affect your operations. Call SERVPRO of Central Brevard at (321) 638-4947 to help. We’re Faster to Any Size Disaster.

Drying Moisture from Water-Damaged Merritt Island Bakeries

7/7/2019 (Permalink)

Let us take the full challenge on for you.

SERVPRO can take on your most challenging commercial losses.

Many business owners do not realize it, but moisture and dampness can be as destructive to your Merritt Island property as more considerable water loss incidents. While substantial loss scenarios, including several inches of standing water, can require intricate mitigation and recovery solutions, addressing moisture and dampness can be equally challenging to even experienced restoration professionals like ours. With the traffic you can expect at your bakery every day, getting this situation resolved quickly is critical to your profits.

With multiple threats that you might expect with water damage in Merritt Island bakeries, you need a team of professional restoration specialists that can address each of these concerns individually to restore your affected building fully. Often conventional cleaning and drying efforts are less effective, and therefore, allow damaged areas to get overlooked and missed. The sophisticated readers and moisture content detection tools our SERVPRO team utilizes on every water loss emergency can help to get an accurate understanding of the spread of these effects.

Many moisture and dampness concerns originate within the kitchen area of your bakery, as these areas can often become excessively hot. Poor ventilation of this baking area can also make this situation worse, allowing smaller moisture and dampness concerns to escalate to a destructive and damaging point.

A situation like a mold or microbial growth from persistent moisture in your bakery can damage your reputation with your customers and make it difficult to get your doors back open after restoration and remediation without substantial and thorough testing. Our SERVPRO team can help you to not only keep your doors open for those looking for fresh baked goods but to get rapid drying solutions started wherever they are necessary for the building right away.

No matter how moisture and dampness came to exist in the kitchen area of your bakery, our SERVPRO of Central Brevard team can help you to manage this situation effectively. We have the experience and advanced equipment to make water damage “Like it never even happened.” Give us a call anytime at (321) 638-4947.

When Your Cape Canaveral Diner Is Hit With Flooding, Our Crew Is Here To Help!

4/8/2019 (Permalink)

We are ready to mitigate any size water loss issue when you need us.

Commercial Flood Damage In Cape Canaveral Breakfast Diner

Florida is no stranger to wild weather any time of year, and flash floods can bring water into a home or business with little warning. As devastating as flooding is for a home, it is just as severe for a business as it can affect the revenue and also the livelihoods of the owner and employees.

When SERVPRO received a call to mitigate commercial flood damage in a Cape Canaveral diner, we arrived within hours of the initial call to begin cleanup. We know in a water loss situation the timer starts ticking on saturated items and they need to be dried as soon as possible for the best chance of restorability.

In the case of this breakfast diner, water entered through a damaged seal around the front entrance doorway and covered the front of the restaurant in sediment and water. Extraction is more than just soaking up standing water. Our technicians do several passes over the same area with extraction wands to pull up as much water and debris as possible. The more thoroughly it is removed, the faster the drying process goes.

The cement flooring has recently been refinished and had a good seal on it so very little beyond drying needed to be done. Tables and chairs were moved to a central location for the legs to dry while the flooring and hostess area in the front was dried using air movers and dehumidifiers.

We know restaurants are held to particular sanitary standards by the health department, SERVPRO technicians ensure their cleaning methods with our professional formulas are thorough and meet those standards, so there are no issues with the diner reopening for business. We offer general contracting as part of our building services and were able to recommend to the owner the type of repair needed on the entrance to inhibit water from entering the property as easily.

Commercial water damage can happen any time, and that is why SERVPRO of Central Brevard has emergency response teams available 24-hours a day by calling (321) 638-4947. We are ready to mitigate any size water loss issue when you need us.

SERVPRO Can Beautify Your Salon in Cocoa Beach Following an Unwanted Spritzing

9/21/2018 (Permalink)

Coco Beach Retail Shops and Salons Get a Make-Over from SERVPRO After a Water Loss

Commercial Water Damage Experts In Cocoa Beach Talk About Beauty Salon Problems

Moisture can move into the interior of your Cocoa Beach beauty salon from several different causes. Most salons have several sources of water running throughout them that create various possible beginnings for commercial water damage. The hoses running from sinks can sometimes leak causing water to spray all over the salon. The sinks used for hair washing can also leak possibly causing a flood inside your salon. Any time excessive moisture finds its way into your place of business, it is possible that mitigation is needed.

Moisture can ruin the structural components of your building as well as your expensive contents and fixtures. Mold growth can occur after 48 hours if the commercial water damage in your Cocoa Beach salon does not get mitigated promptly. As soon as water spillage is problematic in your salon, it is wise to call in a professional restoration company such as SERVPRO immediately. We start by securing the building and making sure that it is safe for you to continue serving your customers.

After the building is secure for all occupants, we devise a mitigation plan. During the initial project scope, our SERVPRO technicians figure out the best way to complete work procedures without negatively affecting your revenue stream. If it is difficult to work around your employees and customers, we can conduct work while the salon is closed. In most cases, we block off one affected section of your business at a time so that you can keep serving your customers.

The first clean up procedure we conduct is the extraction phase. During this stage, we use advanced removal equipment to pull moisture out of any carpet and upholstery. Next, we set up drying equipment to complete rapid structural drying.

To speed up the natural evaporation process, we set up both air movers and dehumidifiers. Air movers create air circulation so that wet air evaporating from surfaces gets pushed away so that more water can evaporate from damp materials. Dehumidifiers then pull moisture out of the air and dispense it in liquid form to a holding tank. The dehumidification systems then exhaust out hot, dry air to be used in the air circulation.

Any time you notice a flood in your beauty salon, call SERVPRO of Central Brevard at (321) 638-4947 24/7.

Be Proactive In Anticipation Of Flood Damage To Your Cocoa Beach Business: Draft A SERVPRO ERP

8/14/2018 (Permalink)

The humid, seaside climate and locale of Cocoa Beach hotels with restaurants exposes many of them to flood damage risk.

Be Proactive In Anticipation Of A Flood

Cocoa Beach is a very popular destination for visitors seeking beachside fun or following up an interest in the Kennedy Space Center. When your customers save and plan for a vacation in the area, last minute changes because of flooding is disappointing for your clientele and extremely bad for business. Connect with us on an innovative way to prepare for a disaster with the least disruption for visitors and the business community.

The humid, seaside climate and locale of Cocoa Beach hotels with restaurants exposes many of them to flood damage risk. Storms can dump torrential rain and blow fierce winds that combine for inches or even feet of water in your hospitality business. Trees shear off and break windows or damage roofs to allow more water intrusion, and the storm surge can send water streaming into your kitchens, dining areas, lobbies, and guest rooms. Although the hope is always for the storm to miss your area, there will come a time when your business needs immediate flood remediation. Our trained crews can help.

Our response is more efficient and effective when you or your managers take the time to develop an Emergency Ready Plan and Profile with SERVPRO. An experienced project manager meets with you on your site to evaluate your property’s layout and potential vulnerabilities if a crisis occurs. We built an information database about your business’s physical layout and how you operate so we can respond swiftly and surely. Expect some suggestions that minimize any damage you might experience based on our inspection and familiarity with how flooding losses evolve.

You use our mobile app to enhance the information shared during the SERVPRO visit. We encourage you to provide us with the names on contact information on vendors and equipment manufacturers so we can work with them to ensure proper operation of your systems after we remove the water and dry out your site. Locating utility shut-offs and listing employees or other who can act on your behalf if you are absent during a flood allows the needed flood restoration work to proceed without delay.

Businesses in our service are wise to partner with SERVPRO of Central Brevard to create concise but thorough Emergency Ready Plans to deal with water and other disasters. Call (321) 638-4947 now to schedule an appointment to get the plan in motion.

Understanding The Estimation For Mold Remediation In Your Merritt Island Hotel

7/19/2018 (Permalink)

With the help of our SERVPRO equipment, we can clean and restore any mold damage that poses a threat to your hotel.

Your Your Merritt Island Hotel Will Be Taken Care of By SERVPRO if Mold is Discovered

When you discover mold growing in an area of your Merritt Island hotel, your first instinct should be to seek out professional remediation services. With the potential health effects that come with exposure to active colonies, guests in your hotel could be at risk for these effects without even realizing it. Therefore, it should be a priority to handle this situation as efficiently and as promptly as possible.

Not only do you have the mold damages to worry about in your Merritt Island hotel, but as a business owner, you have the incurred costs of remediation to concern yourself with as well. Understanding a little more about the way that our SERVPRO team determines the cost of a restoration and remediation project can help you better appreciate the estimate you receive for the work that needs to happen.

The first thing that you need to understand about the way that costs get determined for the work is that it all gets based on an initial inspection performed by a SERVPRO estimator. It is their job to determine all of the steps that are necessary to restore the damage and get everything back to the way it should be.

This inspection details the full scope of the damage that has occurred, and what must happen to remove the colony and fungal growth entirely. This assessment further details the necessary equipment and personnel required to accomplish the task.

Much of the estimated costs are relative to the general "costs of doing business." We have money spent in picking up and delivering specific equipment to job sites. We have administrative costs related to project planning, photographs and progress reports. These incurred costs are all included in that same initial ballpark estimation you receive.

Locally Owned Company with National Resources

Mold is something that poses a risk to your staff and the guests in your hotel. While no business owner wants to have to reduce their available rooms or services, the right professional remediation can assure that this does not have to happen for very long. Give our SERVPRO of Central Brevard technicians a call today at (321) 638-4947.

Eliminating Commercial Water Damage In Cocoa Beach

6/8/2018 (Permalink)

For Pierless Professional Water Removal from Your Business in Cocoa Beach--Call SERVPRO

Rely on SERVPRO to Protect Your Cocoa Beach Business with Fast Water Removal

As Cocoa Beach business owners know, a commercial disaster can mean double the loss; sometimes, even more, of a home disaster. Even something as simple as a broken in-take pipe can result in not just physical damage, but the loss of income to the business. If doors remain closed, then invoices do not get paid, and paychecks do not get issued.

SERVPRO understands that commercial water damage to Cocoa Beach businesses is usually from clean water. That means there is no sewage or other contaminants in any standing water or water trapped in carpets, furniture, or walls. The goals of our technicians are to remove the water, dry the structural and other property, and reopen the doors to customers as quickly as possible.

In an office setting like an insurance agency, the first task is to get the water out. Our technicians start in most offices with extraction wands. These devices can remove standing water from floors and draw it out from soaked carpets. They draw out the water to prevent two specific problems: delamination and lifting of the carpet from the floor.

Delamination is when the top and bottom layers of the carpet separate from each other. It occurs when the glue absorbs too much water, and the top layer begins to pull away. The same process happens when the glue holding the bottom layer of the carpet to the floor softens, and bubbles of air and water begin to form. That forces the carpet away from the floor, which enlarges the bubbles further.

To stop both, SERVPRO technicians utilize the heating element in the extraction wands to carefully dry the carpet layers as they remove the water. Team members start with the lowest setting to prevent softening the glue further and avoid damaging the carpet surface. "Floating," the process of lifting the carpet from the tack strip and injecting warm air can at times help salvage the carpet and padding.

To speed up the process, they also set-up dehumidifiers to draw water from the air and surrounding property like furniture and building material like drywall and floor trim. As they lower the humidity, other specialists install exhaust fans at key positions to draw out the damp, interior air and force it outside.

Every business is different, but SERVPRO of Central Brevard has the experience and training to restore each one to a safe, dry condition. If you need us, call (321) 638-4947 today. We are here to help.

Valued Resource

1/18/2018 (Permalink)

One of the most important things we do here at SERVPRO of Central Brevard is got to know the local property managers, real estate agents, condo board members and maintenance staff.  The reason we want to do this is because not only are we a vendor we are more importantly a valued resource for them.

Often times through out the year people have questions they need answered so they can make educated decisions that will affect condos they live in or properties they manage.  We have set ourselves apart by being there at board meetings, condo association meetings, being on panels and doing what ever we can to ensure our local partners are getting not only top quality service but the answers they need. SERVPRO of Central Brevard  --we are here to help!!

Not the kind of wet bar we want

8/15/2017 (Permalink)

SERVPRO of Central Brevard received a weekend call from  a local Brevard county Knights of Columbus for a large leak. And it was large almost 90 % of the building had water in it.  Thankfully there were large areas that did not have contents to move and there was lots of hard flooring and not much carpet-

The problem started from a water line leak behind the bar.  They had shut the water off from the building before our arrival and called in a plumber to repair the damaged water line.

Please see the photo below showing one of our IICRC trained techs extracting water from one of the main areas in this building.  It did take several hours but after about 3 days we had the entire building dried out!!!

Helping Condos with emergency planning

8/4/2017 (Permalink)

SERVPRO of Central Brevard has always been active in our community.  With Hurricane Matthew still fresh on everyone's mind we have stepped up to be a valued resource to our condominium association.

At the beginning of the summer the Space Coast Condominium Association (SCCA) held storm and emergency preparedness  meetings, one of which we sponsored, during these meeting we showed how SERVPRO's Emergency Ready Profile (ERP) complements and enhances the plans they are making.  The individual condo presidents really love the portability of the information.  That way in the case of evacuation they don't have to worry about any paperwork its all right there on the phone. We are working with several condos right now getting prepared-

This is one of the things I enjoy- building lasting trust with our friends and neighbors by lending a hand and providing a service (which is free by the way)that will not only give piece of mind but allow us to take care of them if the time comes when they really need help!!

ERP's Lead the way to great relatioships

8/4/2017 (Permalink)

SERVPRO's Emergency Ready Profile (ERP) has been a useful tool in the creation of great relationships.

We have been using them in the local hotels and during the summer months they are almost always up to capacity,   With that many people you can almost guarantee that some sort of damage is going to occur.

With the use of the ERP not only have we gained the confidence of the hotel managers but we have great relationship with the maintenance staff which make taking care of their emergency so much easier.  We don't have to ask for instructions for ever little detail we already know them.  Anytime you can get something like a water damage done quickly and a business back up running all the better- especially  at a hotel who will tell you that the "most expensive room is an empty room"
